O Christmas tree

I know I said I wouldn't have one of those glittery, tinsel kind of Christmas this year but I ate my words this Sunday when I (finally) got out the Christmas tree and decorated it with all sorts of tinsel and glittery baubles. We weren't going to set up a Christmas tree this year - but Christmas really isn't Christmas without a tree, right?

I also decided to put up the set of outdoor lights I bought two years ago indoors.  The result?  Utterly magical.  The picture above doesn't really give it any justice, plus it's just still way to bright in there but believe me, it does look pretty amazing :)

Only a few more days until Christmas... hope you got everything ready!  Oh and if you're like me and leave things until the very last minute and are still looking for ideas, trust me when I say this blog has so many adorable ideas - and then some!  It really is one of my favourite blogs.

Merry Christmas!

A Will & Grace Adventure

Yes, I do realise the hilarity in our names together..  Anyhoo, on Saturday Will and I had ourselves a bit off an adventure as we drove to Curl Curl to pick up Will's latest obsession: turtles!  Did you know you need a licence to own a turtle here in Australia?  I was a bit freaked out at first to pick it up - I mean, scaly skin instead of soft fur?! - but he/she really is so cool that I couldn't resist for too long.

After Curl Curl, we perched on top off a place that is fast becoming one of my favourite spots.  Can you guess where we are?  I am determined to return here and have a proper picnic on my break (3 days left!!).

And then before heading home, we went to go see New Year's Eve at the movies.  I really liked it (New York is definitely up there on my list of places to visit) but Will was a bit so-so.. pssh, guys.  What do they know? ;)

How was your weekend, folks?

A Recycled Christmas

What's not to love about Christmas?  Between the glowing fairy lights, a midnight dinner with the whole Gabriel clan, and the excitement of buying and (more so ;) opening presents?  C'mon now!

This year, I have taken it upon myself to take the DIY route when decorating for Christmas.  Firstly, because we have way too many decorations as it is, secondly I need to save $$ and thirdly, well it's always more fun creating things yourself ain't it?

Take a sneak peak of what I - with the help of my siblings - have created below.  I suppose it's not your usual glitter and tinsel kind of Christmas but that's exactly what we were going for.   Now, I can't exactly take credit for all these ideas; I have been trawling through the Etsy newsletter everytime it hits my inbox for inspiration but I have tweaked some of these a la Gabriel!

Yay or nay?

Christmas tree bunting

Who knew you could do so many things with empty coffee jars?

This took a lot of work but how awesome did it turn out?

This was way too easy to make!

I'm bringing DIY Christmas cards back :)
